Coronavirus: Don't Stop Working on Your Product Business

Coronavirus: Don't Stop Working on your Product Business

In this unedited special episode, we chat about a big topic: Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on product-based businesses and what we think you should be doing right now during this pandemic. We talk about what we are seeing in our own product entrepreneur communities and how to approach these unprecedented times and what we are doing as fellow small business owners in response and preparation for COVID-19.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Ok....we know...you have received SO...MANY...MESSAGES...about Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in the last 24-hrs. And yes here is another one...but this one is different.

We have been trying to figure out how to be helpful to our community and listeners over the past ten days. In fact, we recorded a full podcast last Tuesday on how to prep for the Coronavirus...and then decided against airing it because we were concerned we would create unfounded concern. Cut to ten days later and the world has changed.

In the last two days we have had five+ hours of coaching sessions with our students and masterminders and the same question arose...

"What do I do about my business during this pandemic?"

Great Question!

Here is our answer...

DON'T STOP WORKING ON YOUR BUSINESS!!!

Even if you start to feel that urge to pull back or spin out we want to remind you that this too will pass.

This is temporary. We will get through it...together.

This is the best time to work on your business!

All of those things you have been putting off like updating your website, scheduling consistent emails, writing blog posts, assessing your pricing, or counting your inventory.... NOW IS THE TIME.

You may also want to lean into education..get savvy about really using Instagram as a tool, learn how to take better pictures, read a business book, or learn how to get onto other platforms....NOW IS THE TIME.

You may even get creative...remember you can pivot much quicker than the "big guys". How can you make your product relevant for this current situation? Can you lean into your Best Sellers?....NOW IS THE TIME.

Here are some ideas...

Sell kids toys: Send an email about your toys and how to use them to keep kids busy while schools are closed.

Sell candles: Send an email about how to relieve stress or make home more comfortable during times like these with your specialty scents.

Remember you can create relevant and helpful content via email, create blogs, Pinterest Posts, Instagram, share it everywhere.

We are by no means trying to be insensitive to the current situation...Jacqueline lives just outside NYC and her husband, a Broadway actor, is out of work for the next 4 weeks due to theaters being closed. $h!t is getting real.....

But our job for you...our community..is to help guide you during times like these. We need to get creative. We need to take action. We need to keep working.

We just posted a Special Podcast Episode (unedited) on this topic today. We wanted to share the advice we give our students with you in real time so that you can create a plan of action as well. Make sure to subscribe to stay updated with the latest. Listen wherever you get your podcasts👇🏼

The Product Boss Podcast : ApplePodcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, GooglePlay, TuneIn/Alexa, iHeartRadio

(The episode is so new you may have to refresh your podcast list on your device.)

We even share with you some behind the scenes info about our upcoming challenges and courses that we will be releasing in the coming days and weeks and why we have decided to proceed "business as usual" (minus our kids being home).

Because, like we said, this is TEMPORARY.

And there are things we can take action on right now to ensure our businesses are set up for success when this is all said and done.

Wishing you health, grace, gratitude, and resilience,

Jacqueline and Minna
